Starfleet Command today issued a press release announcing plans to build a further 10 Enterprise Class starships. A move which will provide long term security to the civilians working at Utopia Planitia on it’s own reconstruction and other starship construction facilities within Sector 001.
In a press release from Starfleet Command Fleet Admiral Taylor was quoted as saying this is a giant step forward for Starfleet and it proves we are surpassing our pre-war state already.
In other news, there have been renewed call for further aid to be sent to the colony ships orbiting earth as news reached the Federation News Service that up to 500 people a day are dying of starvation in earths orbit…..

March 20th 2406
Galactic News service wire release.
At first we all thought something had gone wrong yet again with the planetary communications system. I mean who on the planet today hasn’t had a call interrupted by some sort of interference noise or some rouge data packet? Today the sol is system is still trying to analyze the mysterious transmission that interrupted system wide communications at 01:00 hours.
Very Garbled and filled with static a few pieces of the transmission have become publicized with some rather outlandish claims. We present to you here the following for your own assumptions. Real or Hoax?
“Are we? ….we’re through!”
Static……static
The image of a very destroyed starship bridge. Multiple haggard looking figures working in the background.
“You have……receiving this!”
Static……..static……
Aclearer external shot showing a vortex or wormhole of some kind opening in space.
Static…..static……
“My god……found us!”
The screen returns to a view of the starship bridge again….this time the image of a man’s face can be seen mostly clear.
“You have to…..be ready!”
“They’re coming back!……..”
The transmission ends.

Delivered January 12th 2406
Offices of the Galactic News service.
an address from Admiral Bryan Cash
Renegade faction leader Baku.
Good evening,
Like many of you in the sol system and the federation territories beyond i have been monitoring the election results and the news of chaos on earth and in the sol system.
With an outcome yet to be announced these many days after the close of the polls and with the institution of marshal law in the federation i have been asked what my feelings are.
It is obvious what is occurring even to the everyday person trying to get what little information they can huddled together with there loved one at home.
An assault is taking place. Not on just the presidency but on your very freedoms. I know at first after the war the little bits of freedom we all knowingly gave up in the drive toward security seemed worth it at the time. But to those of you reading this…
Was it worth it in the end?
I believe it wasn’t just as i believe many of you think the same thing. As i speak to you my home base in the briar patch is under seige from federation starfleet forces. Acting under the orders of not the president at this time.
Acting under the authority of the secretary of state who in a move that even i did not foresee has seized control of our government using false claims of vulcan and borg infiltrators that simply do not exist.
I have sat back for to long and watched as the freedoms i fought to protect for so many years are stripped away or perverted by those that simply do not care or want them gone. I tried to affect change peacefully through the release of information and talking.
The time for talking is now over. do not despair over these troubled times.
Help is coming
and it will arrive soon.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
CONTACT:
Rear Admiral Logan Callahan
Director of Starfleet Special Investigations
Starfleet Special Investigations declare autonomous electoral review
In the aftermath of reports sweeping in regarding the undemocratic proceedings of the Presidential election, Starfleet Special Investigations are invoking Article Five of their Code of Regulations. They are no longer under the authority of the Starfleet Commander-in-Chief of the Office of the President, and will be using this autonomy from any potentially biased government bodies to remove themselves from the enforcement of martial law that is taking place across the Federation. Instead, SSI will be stepping up to act as a supervisory body during the electoral process, ensuring that all possible steps are taken to ensure the legitimacy of the results. The Office of the Director of SSI will submit a report to the general public at the conclusion of the election with his findings and, if necessary, rule any unlawful result null and void.
Article Five grants SSI the right to remove themselves from the Federation’s chain of command under circumstances of extreme emergency where an autonomous, independent body of law enforcement and review is necessary to maintain law and order. They are still subject to Federation law save that which makes them beholden to any authoritative body.
The decision to invoke Article Five may be overturned by a vote of the Federation Council with two-thirds majority. Upon the election of a legally and democratically selected President, Starfleet Special Investigations shall return to normal operations.

In the street fighting triggered by the heavily contested election reports of rampant chaos and destruction across the entire earth are appearing in all news media outlets.

From the Associated Galactic press
Filed by field reporter
Hanswoon Lobi
from spacedock2
Information continues to come to light about the systematic disenfranchisement of federation voters in the sol system, particularly in minority and refugee settlements. This news office has received hundreds of complaints, including reports of legal registered voters being turned away from the polls, refugee voters being harassed by governmental officers on every street corner since the instituting of martial law one day ago. Outside of voting stations which are normally packed on voting days, other acts of intimidation and fraud are occurring.
Even before Election Day, this office received reports of fraudulent visits from persons identifying themselves as government officials urging voters to support Edward Jellico. This prompted sol system refugee support organization leader Dora Obi to publicly call on Federation secretary of state Sam Kirok to send and the supervisors of elections to “ensure that tomorrow’s voting will be clean, open and fair.” Obi said at the time, “We will not tolerate the use of fear, intimidation or scare tactics to stop people from exercising their basic right to vote.”
On Space Dock2 nearly 227,000 ballots were rejected in the computer tabulation, the largest number of any region in the election. The bulk of the discarded votes were in majority precincts, including 4,000 in predominantly Xeno precincts where Alexander Stark captured as much as 90 percent of the vote.
Alpha Centauri, a planet of 21,000,124 residents in the northeast corner of the federation, typifies the deceit and election “rigging” of the so-called free and open federation presidential elections. None on the almost 22 million residents of the evacuated planet have been able to cast a vote in this election. They all remain sequestered on starship in orbit of there own home…..for “security and contamination reasons.” Never mind the fact that late polls had show alexander stark again with a significant lead over all competitors there.
With the voting timeline expected to last three days one can only hope Mr.Stark Can maintain his already thin lead over incumbent Edward Jellico.

Federation confirms attack on Refugee processing centre.
In and effort to quiet rumors and hysteria and fear the office of the president has authorized confirmation on the reported attack on December 25th to the main processing centre in paris france.
At approximately 7:30 GMT a large yield explosive device was detonated outside the main processing and placement centre during the height of war refugee processing in paris. The bomb has been determined to be a matter anti matter explosive device and did devastate the entire building and surrounding grounds.
Unfortunately the loss of life has been great and the damage to infrastructure in the area severe, causing the delay in reliable information being released. At this time paris is under martial law and involuntary curfew pending a final report on the attack and detailed information on the attackers being attained.
Major government operations have been temporarily suspended and the entire council moved to a more secure undisclosed location. Luckily the President has been off world for the last several weeks dealing with the Alpha centauri situation. He is expected to return and issue a formal public statement within the next few days.
More information will be released as it becomes available.

Starfleet command announces truth to Admiral Paris disappearance rumor.
In response to recent flood of rumors and gossip about the supposed disappearance of Admiral Thomas Eugene Paris Head of Starfleet Operations. Fleet command has authorized this press release regarding Admiral paris’ present condition and whereabouts.
At approximately 1100 hours San Fransisco east coast time Admiral Paris was en route from S2 to fleet headquarters when the shuttle he was being carried in vanished just outside earth’s atmosphere in what can only be called a subspace vortex event. It is unknown at this time if the event was some sort of natural accurance due to the instability of subspace around the sol system from weaponry used during the war or if Admiral Paris was the victim of kidnap or sabotage.
Be assured that at this time no viable or credible threat to sol system security is suspected and no person should see any reason to panic. Everything is being done to locate the admiral at this time. Due to the nature of the persons involved a higher level of security alert has been implemented in the sol system and all civilian traffic in to or out of the area has been suspended.
More information will be released as it becomes available.

July 16th, 2007
It’s a turbulent time around the Federation; a few short days ago we were at war with the Vulcan. Today we find ourselves declared brothers in arms, cohorts, and friends.
Is it any wonder that the common person is confused?
The change is easy to understand when you are aware of the context of the changes; no President Jellico isn’t just knee jerking in an attempt to curry favour, he like the rest of the Federation Council is worried about events unfolding on Alpha Centauri. It seems the Borg have returned; there have been many sightings of drones on the planet.
The fear that this heralds a whole new Borg onslaught have put the entire fleet on the highest alert level in 7 years, President Jellico went as far as offering a task force to the Vulcan’s to assist them in maintaining the exclusion zone they have created around Alpha Centauri. In a surprising move the Vulcan’s accepted this offer. Even as I type these words 10 Starfleet Vessels including USS Columbia, a ship not yet officially in service, have been dispatched with orders to assist the Vulcan’s in any way possible.
Rumours within the fleet have suggested that President Jellico may even have signed orders sending some of the mobile infantry’s elite SABRE units to assist in the pacification of Alpha Centauri. If this is so it will be a strange thing indeed for the SABRE units after they’ve spent 6 months training in preparation for an all out assault on Alpha Centauri.
As always the Federation News Service is busy trying to get an official comment from the Joint Chiefs, however as is usually they case they are remaining tight lipped citing operational security as their reason for keeping the Federation in the dark regarding their actions. Could it be they know more than we do? Or worse, do they know less?
Only time will show if this is really the return of the Borg, I’m sure whatever the outcome there will be questions about Vulcan security in the future. They were never in favour of the Federation’s hard line on the security of Sol, yet here we are drone free.
